Camosun College is building a marine trades facility near Seaspan’s Victoria Shipyards. The facility’s construction is funded by around $5.26M in donations from the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation in partnership with Seaspan. The facility will help train students pursuing careers in the marine trades. The facility is expected to be completed in the next two years.

The Government of B.C., the Capital Region District, and the City of Victoria have jointly provided $8.7m in funding to construct and install 576 Level 2 and 20 direct-current fast-charging ports for electric vehicles, spread out across 80 locations. The City of Victoria will manage 424 of the Level 2 ports, as well as the 20 direct-current fast-charging ports.

The Government of B.C. has awarded the Phase I contract to redevelop the Belleville ferry terminal in Victoria to Willow Spring Construction Ltd. The province has set aside $303.9 million for the two-phase contract alongside a $41.6 million federal contribution. EllisDon Corporation, KL Belleville Terminal Partners, and Pomerleau Inc. have been shortlisted to complete the Phase II work.
