KWP Engineered Wood Siding, a wood siding manufacturer in Terrebonne, ceased operations. The manufacturer was a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain. As a result of the closure, 67 people were laid off.

Évolys, a joint venture between Rio Tinto and Aymium to produce biocarbon, is currently building a $50M plant in Thurso. Production could begin in June.

The Government of British Columbia has provided Atco Wood Products, a forest-sector manufacturer in Fruitvale, with $50K to complete planning for a new veneer-production facility and purchase new equipment. The University College of the North (UCN) in Flin Flon has announced plans to add a dedicated student housing facility. Site preparation is scheduled for early February 2025, with a modular unit of 30 to 35 beds expected to arrive by March. The dormitory is set to open by summer 2025.
