The College of New Caledonia in Prince George will no longer be offering their Modern Classics program and English Language Programs starting next fall. The program closures are due to a loss of funding and decreasing student enrollment. Seven teaching positions will also be laid off as a result.
The Governments of Canada and British Columbia have announced an agreement to enhance school programs for 90K children in over 1K schools across the province. The Government of Canada will be providing about $39.4M over the next three years to support the expansion. These funds will go towards expanding the number of students served, purchasing equipment and increasing menu options.
